✅ Deposit:

Personal family portraits/events/parties:  A $250 non-refundable Deposit is due at the time of booking. After receipt of this fee, we will reserve the date and time agreed upon, and will not make other reservations for that date and time. For this reason this fee is non-refundable, even if the date is changed or the appointment is canceled for any reason. The deposit goes towards your final balance. The balance will be due at the end of the shoot.

Rescheduling:

✅ You can reschedule your shoot for any reason 48 hours or more before the shoot.

BEHIND THE SCENES:
For every 1 hour of shooting,  approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours is spent from pre to post production.  Downloading the high resolution RAW files, uploading them to the editing software, going through the hundreds if not thousands of files and culling only the best images, is just the start of the "editing process."

 

The images are then adjusted, enhanced, cropped, color corrected and lightly edited. Then time is spent downloading the photos to an external hard drive, uploading them to a private, password protected online gallery, creating a link, composing an email and sending them to  the client.  All images are backed up onto two separate hard drives for redundancy and in case of fire/catastrophe.  Additional time is spent gathering the correct documents and corresponding with the insurance agent should a Certificate of Liability Insurance be required by the venue or the host. 

 

Pre-production also includes prepping the cameras with full batteries, formatting the SD and CF media cards and making sure fresh new batteries are installed into the flash.  The process is repeated with two back up cameras, lenses and two additional flash units. Nothing is left to chance, so the gear is tested before the shot. A simple family shoot is treated with the same level of professionalism and commitment as photo shoot for an A-List Celebrity or a Fortune 500 commercial.  

 

Traveling roundtrip on the 405 in LA's infamous traffic, and arriving early to the shooting location, at least 15-20 minutes prior to the start time,  gives the client a peace of mind and certainly reduces stress and anxiety for them.  Whereas many photographers arrive, literally at the very last minute or even late, having been raised by a German mom and a Japanese dad, punctuality is a given. A giving of respect to the other person! 

 

The swan looks so graceful and calm on the of the lake.  A mere "quick" 2 or 3 hour family photo shoot on the surface, easily becomes a 7-9 hour day.
